
Gaby Pinewood is a multimedia visual creative and writer specializing in short, experimental films and photography. She graduated summa cum laude from New York Institute of Technology in 2022 earning her BFA in Digital Film and Television Production with a Double Minor in Literature and Culture, and Graphic Design. She is currently pursuing her MS in Integrated Marketing with a Concentration in Brand Management from New York University.
In her photography and filmmaking, Gaby has developed a distinct aesthetic focusing on striking colors, minimalism, and somber themes. She brings a focus to her subjects in powerful display. At the NYIT Film and Animation Festival, her short subject film “Marriage to Death” was nominated in 2020 and her short documentary “Return to NYIT” won best documentary in 2022.
An avid writer, Gaby has contributed poetry with accompanying art from 2019-2022 for the Manhattan Globe newspaper for which she was also Production Editor and copy editor. In 2021, she won a Folio Award, Enterprise Reporting for copy editing as well as third place in the SCJ Magazine General Interest Overall Excellence for copy editing.
In her free time, Gaby reads extensively, analyzing literature, and writing her own pieces. Her other activities include listening to a wide range of music and painting.
